April 2005 - Long time friend Jim Thompson has agreed to do promotions for Dakota 2000, Inc.  Dakota 2000, Inc. a computer technology company located in Pierre South Dakota and Creative Broadcast Services, Inc. have teamed up to produce radio ads for the company.  Dakota 2000 has been in business since 1995 and has grown from a small start-up company to a successful Information Technology organization.

Rob Laurenz, President of Dakota 2000, said it is great to have such a well know person like Jim Thompson on our team to help promote the business.  "Jim will not like me saying this, but I remember listening to "On the Road with Jim Thompson" as a kid, and thinking,  'Wow, what a great voice!'”

Jim has been doing “On the Road with Jim Thompson” for 3 decades, and what would the Days of ‘76 celebration in Deadwood be without his great voice in the reenactment of the killing of Wild Bill Hickock?   Jim’s contribution to the sport of rodeo has been great over the years.  In his radio show he has chronicled the lives of many great rodeo competitors and is very proud of the fact that South Dakota has produced some of the greatest rodeo cowboys ever. 

World Champion Tom Reeves remembers fondly the first time he was asked to be interviewed on the road with Jim Thompson.  Tom said it made you feel like you had arrived in the sport of rodeo primarily because you knew all of your family and friends were listening.  Dakota 2000, Inc. was a long time sponsor of Reeves prior to his retirement from rodeo this past February.

Radio ads will start airing around the state starting in April and will be updated routinely.
