Cabling

Dakota 2000 has been providing structured cabling services going back to 1995.

The basis for a great computer network starts with the design and installation.  We have BICSI certified technicians on staff that specialize in providing the latest greatest network design.

As with anything in technology today, it is extremely important that you are forward-thinking in your design and allow for future growth.

Dakota 2000 crew performs data cabling at a
school located in the bottom of the Grand Canyon.

"On behalf of the students and staff of the Faith School, we would like to take this opportunity to express our gratitude for the service you provided in getting our school up and running for the school year.  Your effort enabled our students to start school in August in the least disruptive situation as possible and they and the staff are all doing well.

Again, thank you for helping us through the challenges our district has faced."

---Board of Education, Faith School District, Faith, South Dakota

Dakota 2000 has completed network projects nationwide -  even an installation in the Congo of Africa!  We have a proven track record of organizing very quickly and working in some of the most remote regions of the nation.

Our cabling services include:  (click here for more info)
  • Copper Cabling- Copper can be used for both voice and data.  Copper cabling is most commonly used to run from each device (computer, printer) back to the MDF (main distribution facility).

  • Fiber - Fiber optic cabling is most commonly used when large amounts of voice and data need to be transferred over greater distances.

  • Coaxial Cabling - Coaxial cable is the kind of copper cable used by cable TV companies between the community antenna and the home/business users. It is also widely installed for business networks and other types of local area networks (LANs).

  • Site Surveys - A site survey involves a Dakota 2000 technician going on a walk through with the customer to identify customer needs, usually free of charge.

  • Cost Proposals - After a site survey is performed a detailed cost proposal can be provided, usually free of charge.

  • Network Engineering - Dakota 2000 also offers network engineering services.  Network engineering involves matching the proper network equipment and infrastructure to meet the customer needs.
